Sometimes I like to spend time just going back and looking through old clinic notes I have or finsing new notes on the web. You can usually find something helpful that just seems to fit perfectly at that time for you. After I talked about Coach Meyer last night I went back and read my notes from his clinic in Baton Rouge. I will post all of them over the next few days. Enjoy!
Notes and Advice:
-Start talk to files- who you want to talk to.
-Points of contact- get people talking about themselves within 1 minute of your conversation with them.
-Plannerpads.com- plan the week ahead on Sunday
-Plan the next day the night before, and read it first thing in the morning.
-Start each day with a routine including prayer and meditation.
-Get up for each game, and have a sense of urgency and purpose.
- Retrieve, Reinforce, and Review Clinic Notes. File them under speaker’s name. If you review them within one week of clinic you will retain 80% of it.
1. Find your gift
2. Develop your special talent
3. Give your gift away everyday
4. It is always better for players to quit rather than you have to kick them off.
*When a player is dismissed or quits, just say that “this is in the best interest of everyone involved” and “you wish nothing but success for this young man”
Things We Learn Every Year1. You can pick captains, but you can’t pick leaders. (Need internal leadership)
2. Your team is never as tough as they can be
3. Old ways are probably still the best ways
4. Thinking as a team, becoming a team.
5. Classy teams win even win you lose. (Leave locker room or bus cleaner than you found it.)
